Surprising Post-WWE Plans for Gable Steveson Revealed

WWE released a number of stars from their contracts in the past couple of months. One of the most shocking names that were let go by the company was Gable Steveson. While the star wasn’t featured on WWE TV very much, the company clearly had a huge belief in him. 

However, with his release, it is hard to say if the star would ever be able to step in WWE again. With Steveson clearly having love for amateur wrestling, WWE wasn’t a good option for him. However, the biggest mystery among fans is the future plans for Steveson post WWE release.

As per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer addressed Gable Steveson’s release and what he could be working upon following his run in WWE. Steveson had meetings with the Buffalo Bills and is set to meet with many NFL teams post his WWE release.

“Gable Steveson had a meeting and tryout with the Buffalo Bills on 5/15. He’s expected to meet with several NFL teams. I would think his prospects are far greater in MMA than the NFL, since he hasn’t even played football at a high level. Steveson never even played high school football, and while Carleton Haselrig, Brock Lesnar and Stephen Neal had a lot of NFL interest without ever playing college football because of their wrestling exploits, all three played high school football.”

While Steveson is eyeing for a run in the NFL, him choosing MMA would clearly be a better option. With his background in wrestling, a career in MMA could boost his chances of making a WWE return in the next few years. Ringside News will keep you updated with the latest news in WWE.
