In the wrestling world, injuries are a common part of the wrestler’s life, considering the risk they take for the entertainment of the audience, Ring of Honor Women’s Champion Athena was added to that list after sustaining an injury during last night’s ROH taping segment at the AEW Collision event.

Athena reportedly injured her left leg which occurred during her match against Viva Van when Athena charged at Van, who ducked and pulled the middle rope down, causing Athena to tumble through the ropes and land on the floor.

Despite returning to the ring with a noticeable limp, Athena managed to hit Van with a forearm smash to secure the pin. Van initially kicked out but then remained down for a second pinfall attempt, suggesting that Athena had communicated her injury to the referee.

The former WWE star, whose reign as ROH Women’s Champion helped her thrive and has now surpassed 518 days, maintained her character after the match but did not put any weight on her left leg as she exited the ring, hopping while being assisted by the referee and another staff member.
