This week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown saw outcomes of the quarterfinals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, and tensions building up, setting the tone for next week’s SmackDown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, one night before the WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE.
In the women’s division, Bianca Belair outlasted the Center of the Universe, Tiffany Stratton in one of the quarterfinals of the Queen of the Ring tournament to move further. On the other hand, Bianca’s partner, Jade Cargill lost her cool in her match against Nia Jax after she berated her daughter at ringside, giving Jax the win via disqualification and setting the stage for the semi-finals between Nia Jax and Bianca Belair.
On the men’s side, LA Knight’s victory in the King of the Ring tournament was costed by a timely distraction by The Bloodline, giving his opponent Tama Tonga the opening to capitalize and secure the win to move to the semi-finals. However, standing in his way is the dangerous Viper, Randy Orton who defeated Carmelo Hayes in the main event to advance forward in the tournament.
Finally, a backstage argument between current WWE Women’s Champion Bayley and Chelsea Green led to the Role Model informing her that she would see her in the ring next week on SmackDown, hinting at a possible showdown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
