Johnny TV, known previously in WWE as John Morrison, is known to be one of the most athletic and skilled in-ring performers of this generation and has once again resurfaced in Tony Khan’s AEW after a significant absence.
The Prince of Parkout reportedly signed an AEW contract last June, but his infrequent television appearances have sparked discussions about the status of that contract. But recently, on the “Grilling JR” podcast, AEW announcer, Jim Ross provided more clarity on Hennigan’s current standing with Tony Khan’s company, stating that he might have re-signed with AEW.
“I think Morrison just re-upped with AEW.”
Johnny TV, who has used over 30 different last names throughout his 20-year career made his AEW debut in 2022 as a surprise opponent for Samoa Joe during the Owen Hart Cup Memorial Tournament but came up short in his effort.
Following his debut, he wrestled sporadically before taking on other wrestling engagements with promotions such as AAA, MLW, and AEW’s sister promotion, Ring of Honor, and also started appearing alongside his wife and fellow AEW star, Taya Valkyrie on AEW’s YouTube channel, titled ‘Johnny Loves Taya.’ Moreover, he will also battle HOOK on the May 18 edition of AEW Collision in the FTW Contender Series.
While Jim Ross believes that Johnny TV will be staying in AEW, we will have to wait and see what the company has in store for the talented and tenured performer moving forward.
