Ivar had been gaining significant momentum as a singles star, establishing himself as a formidable opponent for anyone in WWE. However, he was recently written off television after being attacked by Gallus. Reports now indicate that Ivar had been wrestling as if he was on borrowed time, following his previous double fusion surgery.

During this week’s episode of NXT, Wes Lee, Ivar, and Josh Briggs were set to compete in a triple threat match to determine the next challenger for the NXT North American Championship. However, they were found incapacitated on the floor, with the attackers revealed to be the returning members of the faction Gallus.

Following this incident, it was disclosed that Ivar had suffered an injury, leading to his removal from WWE television. Despite earlier reports by Dave Meltzer suggesting that Ivar wasn’t actually injured, Fightful Select has confirmed that this is not true. The exact severity of the injury remains unknown, but it has been noted that Ivar has been wrestling as if he’s on borrowed time due to his previous double fusion surgery.

“Regarding reports that Ivar’s injury is a work, we’re told that isn’t true whatsoever. The severity of the injury isn’t known as of yet, but we’re told Ivar has long wrestled as if he’s on borrowed time after his double fusion surgery,” according to Fightful Select.
