Ivar was building up his credibility as a singles star, establishing himself as a formidable opponent for anyone in WWE. However, he was recently written off television after being attacked by Gallus. After numerous reports about his health status, Ivar has now broken his silence on the matter.
During this week’s episode of NXT, Wes Lee, Ivar, and Josh Briggs were set to compete in a triple threat match to determine the next challenger for the NXT North American Championship. However, they were found incapacitated on the floor backstage. The attackers were later revealed to be the returning members of the faction Gallus.
Following the incident where Ivar was attacked by Gallus, it was announced that he had indeed suffered an injury, leading to his removal from WWE television. Despite earlier reports by Dave Meltzer claiming that Ivar’s injury might be a work, it was confirmed Ivar is legitimately injured.
Ivar took to Twitter after all these reports about his health status and finally set the record straight, as he confirmed that he is legitimately injured and that it is very serious. However, he hasn’t had surgery just yet.
”There has been alot of misinformation floating around about me. Let me clearify: Yes I am injured Yes it is very serious No I have not had surgery Still trying to figure out all options and what this means for my future.”
The Viking Raiders member then made it clear that he appreciated all the love and support he had gotten after news of his injury and long before that as well.
”That being said, I Want to thank everyone for the out pouring of love and support, not only after finding out I was injured but thru out the last several months, I have heard you all!
No matter what happens, I owe it to everyone who ever believed in me to do everything I can to get back in that ring, under those lights, and infront of the most amazing fans on the planet, see you ass soon as I can!”
However, Ivar’s wrestling future is uncertain at the moment after his injury. Despite the injury setback, fans are hopeful for his speedy recovery and return to the ring as soon as possible.
