WWE has a history of stars transitioning from the UFC to becoming full-time performers in its Stamford-based promotion. Recently, Damian Priest disclosed that he had plans to enter the world of Mixed Martial Arts and was preparing for a cage fight before signing with WWE.

As a WWE Superstar, it’s not uncommon for them to be fans of other sports. World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest is an avid MMA enthusiast and enjoys watching the sport when he’s not wrestling.

While speaking on The Rob Brown Show, The Archer of Infamy reminisced about his plans to fight in a cage and his discussions about hosting a small-scale MMA event before committing to WWE.

“I love MMA! I’m a fan; I’ve always been. I was trained. There was a time before I signed with WWE that I didn’t think I was going to make it here, and I was in talks to do a smaller-scale event, but I was going to fight in a cage. I was going to start training. I already talked to some trainers, and I was going to get the ball rolling, and then WWE called, and I was like, ‘Never mind!”’
