Austin Theory is steadily building his reputation as one of WWE’s rising stars. He even had a memorable segment with The Rock last year. It appears Theory isn’t finished with The Great One, as he recently declared that he will end The Rock’s career.
During the September 15, 2023 episode of SmackDown, Austin Theory confronted the returning Pat McAfee. This segment was followed by The Rock making his first appearance in almost four years. The Rock immediately shut down Theory on the microphone and then delivered his signature spinebuster and People’s Elbow on Theory for good measure.
In an interview with The Babyfaces Podcast, Austin Theory took a shot at The Rock, asserting that the Hollywood megastar, despite being on the Board of Directors, was not his boss. The former Money in the Bank winner vowed to put The Rock in his place and end him for good.
“I love him being called The Final Boss because that’s it. He’s at the finale. We’re gonna end it and we’re gonna step on top of him. And me and Grayson Waller, man, we don’t care, you know. And Grayson said in the past: ‘Hey, watch what you say, you know, he’s our boss.’ He ain’t my boss, all right. He ain’t my boss. I’ll put him in his place, all right. Yeah, he had to take a cheap shot, you know, hit the People’s Elbow, get his little pop, get his little reaction, and then now he’s, you know, main eventing a WrestleMania because of Austin Theory,”
Austin Theory also issued challenge to The Rock in the past. It remains to be seen if Theory and The Great One will cross paths again, as that might still happen somewhere down the line.
