WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia shows no signs of slowing down, with a series of upcoming events in the pipeline. While the next Premium Live Event is the King and Queen of The Ring, WWE has further engagements planned in the region. Moreover, there are indications that Saudi Arabia will host a Royal Rumble event after 2025.
ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reported that Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has announced the signing of a “strategic agreement” between Riyadh Season and the UFC, marking an expansion of the partnership established after WWE and UFC merged under TKO Group Holdings.
Alalshikh also disclosed that a notable upgrade to Saudi Arabia’s agreement with WWE is anticipated to be unveiled later this month. He specifically mentioned the possibility of hosting one of WWE’s flagship events, either the Royal Rumble in January or WrestleMania, in Saudi Arabia.
“Alalshikh said an enhancement to Saudi Arabia’s existing agreement with WWE will be announced later this month. Specifically, Alalshikh is looking to bring January’s annual Royal Rumble or WWE’s top event, WrestleMania, to Saudi Arabia.”
Appearing on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Alalshikh was asked about the possibility of hosting the Royal Rumble event in 2025. He responded, stating that WrestleMania 41 had already been announced for Las Vegas, ruling it out. Alalshikh then suggested that discussions were revolving around the years 2026 or 2027 for potentially hosting the Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia.
“We are talking around 26-27.”
Only time will tell whether fans in Saudi Arabia will get to experience the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event within the next few years, as it would be something unexpected for many.
