Carmella recently provided an update on her future endeavors, shedding light on her hiatus from WWE television since March 2023 due to her pregnancy. After welcoming her child into the world in November 2023, she disclosed that she faced nerve damage in her foot during the delivery process.
During an interview with Nikki Garcia & Brie Garcia on the Nikki & Brie Show, Carmella delved into the topic of a potential return to the ring. Expressing her longing for the electric atmosphere of live events and the joy of performing, she emphasized her passion for wrestling, spanning over 11 years.
“Of course. I miss the fans. I miss performing. I fell in love with that and have been doing it for 11 years. More than anything, I want to prove to myself, ‘I can go through this insane experience of labor, delivering, pregnancy, and my body is completely different from the inside out,’ but I’d love to go back and prove that I can. No one else, just to myself.”
However, she revealed the challenges she faces, particularly with a condition known as drop foot, stemming from complications during labor.
“Unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with, what is called drop foot. I have an injury from labor and delivery and pushing the baby out. I have herniated discs in my back, which push on this nerve that is connected to my right foot. The top of my foot, it’s hard to lift. I’m literally limping around everywhere.”
Despite the adversity, Carmella remains resilient. Reflecting on her arduous 60-hour delivery, she illustrated the physical toll it exacted. “It’s gotten better, but I’ve been wrestling for 11 years, and other than some concussions, knock on wood, never had any injuries. Now, I have a major injury from delivering my son,” she disclosed.
Ringside News extends their well wishes to Carmella as she perseveres through her recovery journey.
