In an interesting development within the wrestling world, discussions about WWE star Drew McIntyre’s future with the company arose as reports surfaced regarding the expiration of his contract. Initially, there were uncertainties surrounding his status, however, The Scottish Warrior officially signed a new deal with the company, putting an end to the speculation.
Negotiations for McIntyre’s contract renewal reportedly commenced in March and were concluded after thorough discussions a few weeks ago. The process involved extensive back-and-forth exchanges, indicating a meticulous consideration of terms from both sides.
In a recent interview with Daily Mail, McIntyre emphasized that his happiness and the opportunity to spend time with his family are paramount in this stage of his life and career after signing a new deal.
Drew also acknowledged the positive trend of increased creative freedom for talent in recent years, noting the opportunity it provides for individuals to showcase their abilities. Despite recognizing the inevitable challenges in the industry, Drew McIntyre expressed confidence in his current prime and reiterated his commitment to continuing his wrestling career.
“Being happy, at this point of my life and career all that matters is I’m happy and I can get time with my family that I’ve not had for 20 years. When it comes to creative, I can only control the controllable. As we’ve seen, almost for the past couple of years, there’s been a lot more leeway given to talent, a lot more collaboration. It’s been awesome, as you can see across the board. A lot of people breaking out and an opportunity for myself to show what I can truly do. I know with that it’s always going to be a case of roll with the punches, peaks and valleys, but there’s more to it than just that. We’ll see what the future holds, I just know that I’m in my prime and Drew McIntyre is not going to stop wrestling.”
The Scottish Warrior recently got a World Championship match granted by current champion, Damian Priest on RAW. The match would take place once his injured elbow heals up with speculation being that it would happen in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, the sight of upcoming WWE PLE, Clash at the Castle.
