WWE has entered a new era, guided by the leadership of Chief Content Officer Triple H. Under his direction, the company has undergone significant changes and achieved remarkable success on a global scale. Due to these major changes, former WWE star Jesse Ventura is now in talks for a comeback to the promotion.
While speaking on Frank Morano’s podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jesse “The Body” Ventura revealed that he’s been engaged in discussions with the promotion for a potential return.
Jesse Ventura indicated that the negotiations involve a Legend’s deal, as there are few veterans remaining from the early WrestleMania era, naming the likes of Junkyard Dog, Roddy Piper and more.
“I am back negotiating with them. We’re in talks right now. I have contracts with my attorney right now with WWE. We don’t know right now fully. They want to bring me back under their Legends [deal]. If you go back to WrestleMania 1, there aren’t too many of us alive anymore. It is true. Look, Roddy’s gone, Orndoff’s gone, Andre’s gone, John Studd’s gone… Junkyard Dog’s gone. You have more gone. It goes on and on.”
Jesse Ventura also mentioned that the recent change in WWE leadership has prompted discussions with the company.
“I can only say [negotiations] happened because of the change in direction of the company.”
Jesse Ventura’s association with WWE spans from his illustrious career as a legendary in-ring competitor to his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004. Throughout the years, Ventura has made notable appearances, such as serving as a guest host for RAW in 2009. We’ll have to wait and see whether Ventura and WWE will finally agree on a deal soon enough.
