Eddie Kingston consistently pushes his limits to entertain fans. However, during his match at NJPW Resurgence, he suffered a leg injury. AEW now anxiously awaits updates on his condition, hoping he will be okay.
During NJPW Resurgence, Eddie Kingston put his NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship on the line against Gabe Kidd in a high-stakes No Rope Last Man Standing match. Despite appearing to have Kidd defeated, Kingston chose to handcuff himself to Kidd, leading to a brutal brawl. In a dramatic turn, Kidd countered with a devastating suplex, sending Kingston crashing through a table.
Unable to rise before the referee’s ten-count, Kingston lost the title to Kidd. The Young Bucks and Jack Perry then came out after the match and launched vicious assault on Eddie Kingston. It was then reported Eddie that Kingston sustained a legitimate knee injury during the match.
In the Wrestling Observer daily update, Dave Meltzer noted that AEW simply hopes Eddie Kingston will be okay after the injury. There’s uncertainty regarding his participation in Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing, with AEW being optimistic about his involvement.
“We don’t have more of an update on Eddie Kingston. The only thing we heard today is that they were crossing their fingers and hoping he’d be okay. There was no word whether he’d be able to do Anarchy in the Arena past they were hoping he could.”
It would be very sad if Eddie Kingston would have to forfeit his spot at the Anarchy In The Arena match due to injury, so all we can do is hope for the best and pray he’ll be cleared for in-ring competition.
