Tony Khan became the target of an attack orchestrated by The Elite. Following this, The Elite made a bold declaration, announcing their intention to assume Khan’s responsibilities and take control of the show themselves. Unsurprisingly, The Young Bucks made their NJPW return after 5 years to attack Eddie Kingston at NJPW Resurgence.
At NJPW Resurgence, after Eddie Kingston lost the NJPW Strong Openweight Title to Gabe Kidd in a no rope last man standing match, The Elite made a surprise appearance.
Jack Perry joined and then The Bucks ambushed Kingston. They delivered a promo, asserting dominance, then continued their assault by stomping Kingston. The segment ended with the Bucks executing their signature move the EVP Trigger.
This turned out to be the first time The Young Bucks appeared on NJPW television in 5 years, as they were last seen at Wrestle Kingdom 13. This was done to build towards the eventual 4-on-4 Anarchy In The Arena tag team match for AEW Double or Nothing, featuring The Elite versus Team AEW, so we’ll have to wait and see who will triumph in the end.
