Eddie Kingston is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling and is always willing to go beyond his limits for the entertainment of fans. That was the same for his match at NJPW Resurgence, but it appears he might have suffered an injury at the show.

At Resurgence, Eddie Kingston defended his NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship against Gabe Kidd in a No Rope Last Man Standing match. Kingston seemingly had Kidd beat but opted to handcuff themselves together for a brawl. Kidd countered with a suplex, sending Kingston through a table outside the ring. Kingston couldn’t make the 10 count, making Kidd the new champion.

However, The Young Bucks and Jack Perry came out after the match and launched a vicious assault on Eddie Kingston as he was lying lifeless in the ring. This was naturally done to build towards their match at AEW Double or Nothing.

Bryan Alvarez took to Twitter and reported that Eddie Kingston suffered a legitimate knee injury after Kingston was hit with a brainbuster and his knee landed on the barricade during the match.

”The Eddie Kingston post-match was obviously all an angle, but he did legitimately hurt his knee on the barricade at the finish of his match. Don’t know how bad, hopefully he’ll be all right.”

It would be incredibly unfortunate if Eddie Kingston would have to forfeit his spot at the Anarchy In The Arena match due to injury, so fans are now hoping he didn’t suffer a serious injury now. We’ll have to wait and see what will become of The Mad King in the end.
