Kenny Omega had been sidelined due to diverticulitis for several months but finally returned on AEW Dynamite last week. The Elite ended up destroying him during the show and Omega now plans to go off the radar.
On the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega made his first appearance since December. He discussed his recovery from diverticulitis before The Elite, including The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada, launched a surprise attack. Omega was stretchered out, and The Elite continued their assault backstage.
Despite his physical involvement in the angle, it’s going to be a while before Omega is cleared to return to the ring. Today, he shared a message with fans ahead of his upcoming surgery on Instagram.
”Have fun and stay safe, I may go dark for a bit soon, but remember… I’m always on duty!”
In fact, Kenny Omega contemplated retiring amidst his health issues. Omega also hinted at potential reinvention of his persona upon his return to the ring, so we’ll have to see when he’ll be back.
