WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday featured Cody Rhodes dethroning Roman Reigns as the Undisputed Universal Champion and that’s just a testament to how popular he really is. He’s the merchandise king right now and it appears he even reached a new incredible merchandise milestone recently.
Since his switch from Raw to SmackDown, Rhodes has established himself as the brand’s top star, especially as Reigns takes a break. Rhodes’ popular is simply undeniable and that is reflective in his merchandise sales.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, sources close to Fanatics have confirmed that Cody Rhodes was the sole wrestler to make it onto the top 10 overall sellers list for the month of April. This list encompasses all sports and items sold by Fanatics, indicating Rhodes’ significant popularity and marketability.
”Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp confirmed with sources near Fanatics that for the month of April, Cody Rhodes was the only wrestler to hit the top 10 overall sellers list, based on an internal list. This crosses over and includes all sports and items that Fanatics sells, which covers some heavy ground.”
In case you missed it, Logan Paul will be Rhodes’ opponent at the King and Queen of The Ring event in Saudi Arabia on May 25th, so we’ll have to see how the match will turn out, especially since it could be a title vs title bout.
