Since 2019, Taylor has been a consistent presence on NXT as the announcer for the developmental brand. As previously reported, Alicia Taylor was set for main roster call-up and that’s what happened as she debuted on SmackDown this week. Taylor has now reacted to her first night on the blue brand.
Alicia Taylor transitioned from NXT to WWE SmackDown after concluding her tenure with the former on the May 9 episode. Needless to say, many fans felt she did very well in her debut.
In an exclusive interview on SmackDown, Alicia Taylor shared her impressions of her debut night on the blue brand. Alicia Taylor made it clear that she felt the whole experience was incredible.
“Incredible. I’m glad that I got through one of them. [Laughs] I couldn’t tell if it was my caffeine intake or anxiety or what it was, but before the show, I was like, ah, let’s do it. Let’s go. Let’s f’n go. [Laughs].”
Reflecting on the overwhelming support she received, particularly from figures like Triple H and Shawn Michaels, Taylor reminisced about her farewell from NXT.
“The other night [at] NXT, my last NXT, they tried to make me cry. I’m a gangster, okay, I can’t be crying. I’m not gonna lie, they brought a little tear. It was special. It was really special. NXT is such a special place, and like you said, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. I’ve always been really close with Triple H and both of them. Shawn, he’s done a great job of taking over NXT and helping it grow to what it is today. It’s just all really special.”
Triple H even endorsed Alicia Taylor before her debut on Friday Night SmackDown this week. Nevertheless, Taylor is now more than happy to be on the blue brand and that’s all that truly matters.
