Tony Khan fell victim to an attack by The Elite and last week The Elite announced that they would be taking over Khan’s role and running the show themselves. This made fans wonder if Khan would wrestle as part of the angle, but some believe that won’t happen.
At Double Or Nothing, The Elite—consisting of Jack Perry, The Young Bucks, and Kazuchika Okada—will face off against Team AEW, featuring Bryan Danielson, Eddie Kingston, and FTR, in an Anarchy In The Arena match. This chaotic and unpredictable matchup has sparked considerable fan speculation that Khan might just get involved in the match as an act of revenge.
On the most recent episode of The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy discussed the possibility of AEW President Tony Khan wrestling. Hardy dismissed the idea, suggesting that if Khan were to get involved in a match, it would likely be in a limited capacity rather than a full wrestling role.
“No, Tony won’t wrestle. Tony won’t wrestle, but I think he will be involved outside the ring at some point,” Hardy explained. “He’ll do something at some point where he will interact within the context of a wrestling match. That would be my guess.”
Tony Khan also stated that he won’t take revenge on The Elite anyway. We will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to book The Elite and Team AEW’s feud in the coming weeks, as it has become evident the company is going all out with the storyline.
