On the April 27, 2024 episode of AEW Rampage, former best friends Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor went head-to-head in a violent parking lot brawl. The hard-hitting and bloody encounter saw Beretta ultimately triumph over Taylor, leaving their friendship in shambles. Unfortunately, it appears Taylor may never wrestle again after suffering a career-ending injury.

On the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy revealed that Chuck Taylor “will never wrestle again” following his brutal match against Trent Beretta on AEW Rampage. It was then added that Taylor would require surgery, but many fans hoped this was all part of a storyline.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Chuck Taylor’s storyline injury is, in fact, legitimate. The current belief is that Taylor may not be able to wrestle again, as the nature of his injury is likely career-ending.

”Chuck Taylor’s storyline injury is legitimate with the belief right now being “that Taylor won’t be able to wrestle again” with the nature of the injury being “likely career ending”.

It’s incredibly unfortunate that Chuck Taylor’s career might have come to an end in such a way, as there was so much more he could have done. Regardless, we’ll still hope for his best.
