WWE’s long-term deal with Saudi Arabia is ongoing, with several events still to come. While the next Premium Live Event is the King and Queen of The Ring, WWE might add more annual events in Saudi Arabia.
WWE’s decade-long partnership with Saudi Arabia began in 2018 under Vince McMahon’s leadership, with the company hosting two major events annually, often featuring top stars and part-time performers. After McMahon stepped down in January 2024, there was speculation about how this might impact the deal, which has often been controversial.
During the TKO Q1 earnings call, Endeavor President Mark Shapiro dismissed concerns that McMahon’s exit would affect the agreement. He explained that Nick Khan, WWE’s CEO, has maintained and strengthened the relationship with Saudi officials, inheriting the role from Vince McMahon.
“There was a lot of speculation with Vince being gone, ‘would that impact the relationship in a negative way? Would they be looking to get out of it?’ I would say that Nick Khan, in particular has developed, sustained, cultivated, and nurtured a very strong relationship in a handoff from Vince. They have a lot of trust and faith in each other.”
Additionally, Shapiro mentioned that while WWE currently holds two annual events in Saudi Arabia, there’s potential to increase the number of events in the future.
“We have a strong and healthy relationship with the Kingdom, through WWE, and doing two annual events a year… Potentially, we could look to do more events, but nothing is planned beyond those two events at this time.”
It was also reported that Saudi Arabia wants to host WrestleMania or The Royal Rumble as well. Only time will tell whether fans in Saudi Arabia will get to experience either of the Premium Live Events in the future.
