For months now, there have been speculations that AEW was working with Warner Bros Discovery on a television deal. Tony Khan later confirmed that there were some serious negotiations going on between both companies and hinted that the deal might be finalized very soon.
However, before a TV deal with WBD could make things better for AEW, a new update from the company has surfaced. Bloomberg recently revealed that WBD was making some cuts in their budget after having a huge amount of debt in 2023. With the company trying to make more profits in the coming months, choosing a profitable company to make a deal with would be their biggest priority.
With AEW not being a very exciting company in terms of revenue, their deal getting a few changes is very possible. WBD could add some ‘cost-cutting’ measures to AEW itself to help them keep the revenue rolling.
While AEW is seemingly set to have trouble with their TV rights in the next few weeks, WWE has managed to sign deals with Netflix and USA Network to keep running their content smoothly. Ringside News will keep you updated with everything going around in the wrestling world.
