Ricky Starks has been with AEW since 2020, consistently delivering strong performances. In March, he faced an injury scare during AEW Collision and that actually raised concerns about his health. Fortunately, there’s now an update on his condition, finally offering some clarity on his status.
On the March 30 episode of AEW Collision, “The Absolute One” Ricky Starks appeared to suffer an injury during the tag team title tournament match where he and Big Bill faced Top Flight.
At one point in the match, Starks seemed unsteady and couldn’t escape a simple roll-up by Darius Martin. He then took a DDT, resulting in the match ending abruptly as Starks was unable to kick out in time. Following the match, medical personnel quickly attended to Ricky Starks in the ring to check on his condition and ensure his safety.
Ricky Starks has not been seen on AEW television ever since. According to PWInsider, although he wasn’t featured on television, Ricky Starks was in Jacksonville, Florida last week for a check-up with AEW’s medical team.
Starks’ trajectory in AEW remains uncertain during his AEW hiatus, as Big Bill is now working with Chris Jericho. We’ll have to wait and see whether Starks will end up feuding with Jericho once he’s back.
