Drew McIntyre has risen to prominence in recent months and was set for a solid match on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Unfortunately, it has now been announced that McIntyre will no longer compete on RAW tonight.
Tonight’s episode of WWE RAW will be broadcast live from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut and one of the most highly anticipated matches would have seen Drew McIntyre taking on Finn Balor in the first-round bracket for the King of The Ring tournament.
However, WWE took to their official Twitter and uploaded a video featuring Adam Pearce, where Pearce announced that Drew McIntyre has not been medically cleared for the match and thus has been pulled from the bout entirely.
”Drew McIntyre is not medically able to compete tonight. McIntyre is medically disqualified from competition and as a result, he has been pulled from the King of The Ring tournament.”
This is likely due to Drew McIntyre currently dealing with a hyperextended elbow, so this might not have come as a surprise to fans. Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait and see who will end up replacing McIntyre in the King of The Ring tournament.
