Roman Reigns has etched his name in the annals of professional wrestling history, but his incredibly 1316-day reign as Universal Champion ended at WrestleMania 40 and now it appears WWE has been called out for not giving Reigns a proper advantage at the show.
The Rock and Roman Reigns triumphed over Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 Saturday, which meant Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes would be contested under Bloodline Rules.
At WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday, Cody Rhodes won the biggest bout of his career by dethroning Roman Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Champion, despite interferences from Jimmy Uso, Solo Sioa and The Bloodline.
While speaking on his Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared his thoughts on the events surrounding Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. He criticized the main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for its numerous run-ins, which he felt diluted the match’s impact. Nash was glad Steve Austin didn’t make an appearance, as it would have added to the chaos.
Despite their earlier win, Nash suggested the interference-heavy setup actually put Reigns at a disadvantage, pointing out that fewer disruptions might have created a much better main event.
“What happened at WrestleMania 40 as a finish? They won the tag match, they should’ve gotten some kind of advantage. There was no advantage. There was run-ins galore by a bunch of Hall of Fame legends. Thank God Steve didn’t show up. Oh my God! Only thing left was for Hulk to come down and drop a leg on somebody.”
In the meantime, Roman Reigns is also working on movie with Keanu Reeves. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see when The Head of The Table will make his triumphant return to WWE television, as it still might be while.
