WWE Backlash France Kickoff Press Show Lineup (5/3/2024):

• The event will be hosted by Monday Night RAW commentator Michael Cole and Byron Saxton
• WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque will provide breaking news and updates on Backlash France
• Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes is set to make an appearance
• “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles is set to make an appearance as well

WWE Backlash France Kickoff Press Show Results (5/3/2024):

The show opens up with a video package showing France and past WWE shows in the country. We then see WWE Women’s Champion Bayley, Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton arrive in the arena.

We then see a shot of the crowd and we are welcomed to the show by Michael Cole and Byron Saxton. Cole starts off by saying that Saxton has been spending this whole week in Europe and Saxton then speaks a little bit of French. Saxton then says he can conclude that European fans are the best fans around the world. Cole then introduces WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Triple H makes his way out.

Triple H starts off by saying thank you to the live crowd. Triple H then asks the crowd if they know why the WWE is in France and says it is because of them. Triple H then says for the first time they are live in France for SmackDown later tonight and Backlash tomorrow. Triple H then says the reason they are there is because they blew the minds of every WWE Superstar who went to France and came back. Triple H then asks the crowd if they are ready.

Cole then says everyone in France is part of history because this is the first international PLE in the Triple H era. Saxton then says tomorrow at Backlash there will be a huge Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women’s Championship between Naomi, WWE Women’s Champion and the next guest Tiffany Stratton and Stratton makes her way out.

Saxton then says before they get into anything he wants to ask Stratton something. Saxton then asks Stratton what she thinks of all the support she has gotten all over the world. The crowd then chants “Tiffy Time” and Stratton says obviously they have great taste and from the very beginning she said she will be the fastest rising star in all of WWE. Stratton then sais Tiffy Time is international. Saxton then asks Stratton if she feels added pressure walking into the Triple Threat Match and Stratton says she feels like she is exactly where she is supposed to be. The crowd then chants for Bayley and Stratton tells them that she is talking. Stratton then says Bayley has had 14 years of experience, but she does not need that because she has only had 2 and a half years of experience and she is already going toe-to-toe with the Women’s Champion. Naomi’s music then hits and Naomi makes her way out.

The crowd then chants for Naomi and Stratton asks what time is it. Cole then says the world wants to know why Naomi thinks she will win the Women’s Championship tomorrow at Backlash and Naomi says she has been up this mountain before and it won’t be the last. Naomi then tells Stratton that she took away her chance at a fair fight against Bayley so come Backlash she will put Stratton in her place early and the crowd boos. Saxton then asks Stratton if she push things too far and got under the skin of Naomi and Bayley and Stratton says she never felt like she push things too far. Stratton then tells Naomi that she pinned her 1-2-3 a couple of weeks ago and Naomi says she did the same to Stratton. Bayley’s music then hits and Bayley makes her way out.

Bayley then starts off by saying ding dong. Bayley then plays to the crowd. Bayley then says Lyon knows the WWE Women’s Champion is their girl. Bayley then asks the crowd if they like Stratton, then tells Stratton that she respects her and understands why Stratton is attacking her and that is because Stratton wants to get to the top of the WWE and make a name for herself. Bayley then says she has been in the WWE for 11 years and Naomi has been here longer so Stratton has a long ways to go. The crowd then chants for Bayley more and Bayley thanks the crowd. Bayley then says it’s all fun and games today, but tomorrow her focus is waking out the Women’s Champion. Bayley then asks Cole if he has any questions left and Cole says he has none, but he wants to remind the fans about the Triple Threat Match tomorrow and an 8-Woman Tag Team Match later tonight on SmackDown.

We then get a video package of WWE Hall of Famer Andre The Giant.

Cole and Saxton then discusses Andre The Giant a bit before Randy Orton’s music hits and Orton and Kevin Owens make their way out. Orton and Owens then raise each other’s arms and the crowd cheers. Owens then asks the crowd if he should speak French and the crowd cheers. Orton then does the same and the crowd cheers for him as well. Owens then speaks French about the first-ever RKO show and the crowd cheers. Orton then says he flew all the way to France to drop a few Samoans with RKOs. Owens then continues to speak French and the crowd cheers. Orton then poses and the crowd cheers for that as well. Cole then reminds the crowd of the Tag Team Match tomorrow at Backlash and Saxton reminds them about the first-ever RKO show with WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman. Cole then talks about the WWE Tag Team Championship Match on SmackDown later tonight. Cole then talks about the Undisputed WWE Championship Match at Backlash, then he sends us to a video package.

Saxton then introduces AJ Styles and Styles makes his way out. The crowd sings in French and Styles then says tomorrow at Backlash for the second time in WWE history he gets another championship outside of North America when he wins the WWE Championship. Saxton then tells Styles that he is in the best shape of his career and tells him that he won his first WWE Championship at a Backlash so does Styles feel this gives him the advantage. Styles then says he does have the advantage because of who he is and it might have taken six years to come back to this moment, but he will be WWE Champion. Saxton then asks Styles how much the championship match weighs on him because of his history with WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes. Styles then sends Cole and Saxton to the side and tells the crowd they can make as much noise as they want to. Styles then says he beat Dusty Rhodes before and tomorrow night he will beat Cody Rhodes.

Cole then introduces Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and Cody makes his way out with the crowd singing his song. Cody then speaks French and Cole says Cody finally finishes his story at WrestleMania. Cole then says Cody will defend his championship for the first time against one of the best ever in AJ Styles. Cody then says that the crowd is ready and ask them if they are excited that a PLE will come to France. Cody then says Backlash will be the show of the year. Cody then says Styles is the former leader of the Bullet Club and asks for a two sweet hand gesture, but Cole gives it to him and not Styles. Cole then tells Rhodes if he shows Styles too much respect he will get burned and lose the championship. Rhodes then says this is very special and he worked his entire life to win the WWE Championship. Rhodes then says tomorrow at Backlash he is leaving the WWE Champion. Cole then talks about the main event of Backlash and the show comes to a close.
