Wendi Richter Responds to Challenge by AEW Star Toni Storm

Timeless Toni Storm has molded herself into a top-caliber star in the AEW locker room, after a failed stint on the WWE main roster. Her exceptional character work and captivating persona made her a mainstay for AEW, reigning as their Women’s World Champion and is set for another huge title defense at Double or Nothing 2024.

In response to a bold challenge that Toni Storm made to wrestling legend Wendi Richter, it seems she has now stepped into the fray. Storm, during a press event for Worlds End, was queried about potential signings for AEW when she made her intentions clear, singling out Richter.

“There is money written all over it. Wendi Richter… I’m going to make you pay.”

Months after Toni Storm laid out the challenge, Wendi Richter seemingly accepted the challenge during a Highspots Virtual Gimmick Table signing, after learning that it was her that Toni had been calling out a lot of time and, wanting to see what he got in her arsenal.

“Well, I didn’t even know she had been calling me out. Someone told me she’s been doing it on a regular basis. Well, money does talk. If they can cough up enough money, I’d take her on. I’d even give her the first swing. Bring it, Toni. You think you can beat me? I’d like to see it. I’m not afraid.”

It’s worth noting that Wendi Richter, a storied figure in the wrestling world, has been absent from the ring since 2005, following a distinguished career highlighted by her reigns as the AWA and WWE Women’s Champion. Her contributions to the sport were further recognized with her induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010. So we will have to wait and see if this exciting match does come to fruition now that Richter has acknowledged Toni Storm’s obsession with her.
