Ricochet Clinches WWE Speed Championship on 5/3 WWE Speed Episode

Ricochet is viewed as one of the best in-ring competitors in WWE and was viewed as a shoo-in as the winner of the first-ever WWE Speed Championship and that’s exactly what happened as he is now the inaugural WWE Speed Champion.

In the May 3 episode of WWE Speed, Ricochet went head-to-head with Johnny Gargano in the finals of the WWE Speed Championship Tournament. The two athletes fought fiercely, exchanging high-impact moves throughout the match.

Gargano avoided Ricochet’s 630 Splash and countered with a powerful superkick. However, in the final moments, Ricochet landed a Recoil and sealed the victory with a Lethal Injection, securing his win in the tournament. Therefore, he became the first-ever WWE Speed Champion.

The Speed Championship is all about fast-paced matches, with Ricochet expected to defend the title in brief three-minute bouts. These matches could happen after each episode of RAW, as Ricochet was drafted to the red brand during SmackDown, so we’ll have to see how Ricochet will fare as the Speed Champion.
