The 2024 WWE Draft kicked off last week on Friday Night SmackDown and continued on  Monday Night RAW, where additional draft selections were made. While lots of talent were drafted, we didn’t really see main roster talent getting officially drafted to NXT and the reason for that has been revealed.

Quite a few people viewed Monday’s draft as the bigger of the two nights as more stars were called up and also drafted to different brands. There were main roster call ups but a distinct lack of main roster stars being drafted to NXT confused fans.

According to Fightful Select, it was reported that there are several reasons why no main roster talent were officially drafted to NXT. Sources indicated that some wrestlers might view it as a demotion, and there were also concerns about the differences between main roster and NXT contracts in WWE. Despite these issues, main roster talent are still expected to appear on NXT in the coming months.

”With regards to main roster names heading down to NXT, Brennan is told the reasons for no talent being officially drafted to NXT included a fear some talent would see it as a demotion, along with issues about the difference between main roster and NXT contracts in WWE. Main roster talent are expected to continue showing up in NXT in the coming months.”
