Throughout All Elite Wrestling’s short but vibrant history, numerous celebrities and outside personalities have made notable appearances. In fact, Tony Khan has now made it clear he would love to see Jacksonville Jaguars players make their way to AEW.
Stars like Shaquille O’Neal, Mike Tyson, Action Bronson, and Paul Walter Hauser have participated in various AEW events. A memorable example was Urban Meyer, then-head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who made a cameo in the 2022 Anarchy In The Arena match.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, AEW CEO Tony Khan discussed the possibility of having players from the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL team owned by Khan’s father, Shad Khan, make appearances in AEW. He expressed enthusiasm about the idea and noted that some Jaguars players were upset about a past incident involving him, suggesting that this might lead to future storylines. Khan mentioned that Jaguars players, along with other NFL personnel, follow AEW closely.
“I would love that. I think that’s a great thing. I know some of the Jaguars players were very upset about what happened to me. That’s something to keep an eye on too. The Jaguars players follow AEW really closely. A lot of the NFL players follow it. Every week on the road, people come up to me, all kinds of people, whether it’s the opposing coaches, opposing players, security at the stadium, the people in concessions, every week in the NFL whether it’s in Jacksonville or on the road, people always come up and talk about AEW. It’s one of those things that really amazed my dad. He was not a big wrestling fan coming into this and he’s become a fan of AEW and enjoys watching it.”
In the meantime, Tony Khan has already confirmed that the power struggle between The Elite and Khan will be addressed on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. We’ll have to wait and see whether Jacksonville Jaguars players will make their presence felt on AEW television one day.
