There are quite a few talented pro wrestlers in AEW right now who continue to compete on a weekly basis. Even then, AEW is always looking to sign more talent, and it appears Tony Khan claimed AEW has a big war chest to that effect.
AEW has already signed major names such as Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay. Therefore, fans started wondering whether AEW would still try to sign more major free agents in the future.
In a recent interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Tony Khan expressed his enthusiasm for the current state of All Elite Wrestling, emphasizing the strength and depth of the roster. He noted that AEW has added a significant number of talented wrestlers in 2024, enhancing the quality of the company’s roster.
“We have a great roster in AEW. We’ve added a lot of talent this year. We’ve been fortunate to add big names to AEW to make the roster even better than it has ever been.”
Khan also indicated that AEW is committed to maintaining this momentum by being active in recruiting new talent, mentioning that the company has a substantial financial reserve to support its efforts.
”We will continue to be active bringing in the best names. AEW had a great start in 2024. It’s only going to get better. We’ll be active players in free agency when an opportunity arises. We have a big war chest in AEW. I think that free agency in pro wrestling is good for the fans and wrestlers alike.”
In case you didn’t know, Tony Khan will run AEW remotely after suffering head and neck injuries due to The Elite’s brutal attack. Even then, it comes as no surprise the company is still determined to sign more big names to the company whenever possible. We’ll have to wait and see when AEW will sign another major name.
