Taz is one of the true veterans in the world of pro wrestling, as he made a name for himself in ECW and WWE and he has been part of the AEW commentary team for a few years now. Injuries have always plagued him and it appears he will require double shoulder replacement surgery as well work on his knees.

Taz shared his recent medical update, shedding light on the toll his years of intense training and heavy lifting have taken on his body. In a recent post on Twitter, he revealed that he visited a highly acclaimed orthopedic surgeon to discuss his ongoing knee issues. Following tests and X-rays, he learned that both of his shoulders and knees require joint replacements, totaling four surgeries.

Taz stated that he is not planning to undergo the joint replacements at this time. Instead, he intends to pursue regenerative procedures and endure the pain while continuing his work. He also clarified that his joint issues are not a result of bumps or wrestling injuries but stem from his training style, where he pushed his body to extremes in a quest to be “big.”

In sharing this information, Taz offered advice to today’s wrestlers and athletes, urging them to train smarter and avoid the kind of damage he sustained from his heavy training regimen. He emphasized that times have changed for the better, and it’s essential to prioritize long-term health and well-being.

”Went to a highly acclaimed orthopedic surgeon yesterday to discuss my knee. It’s been brutal for a couple of years, he did testing & X-rays on me. So, both of my shoulders & knees need to be replaced. 4 joints. I am not doing this right now. I’m gonna keep trying regenerative procedures & try to suck it up dealing with the pain. *This is NOT from bumps… It’s from training too heavy like a caveman trying to be “big”. I’m posting this for today’s wrestlers, please be smarter, times have changed for the better!!”

We will have to wait and see whether Taz will end up getting double shoulder replacement surgery and for his knees as well or whether the regenerative procedures will help him in the end.
