The recent surge in WWE’s programming has captivated audiences from the outset, notably with Cody Rhodes emerging as the franchise star. His remarkable victory over Roman Reigns, toppling the Tribal Chief to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40, set a tone of excitement for the new era.
Transitioning from the grandeur of WrestleMania, Rhodes now looks forward to his first challenger at WWE Backlash France, AJ Styles whom he will battle in the main event of the aforementioned WWE PLE after making their match official last week.
Amidst the fervor of WWE’s tour in Europe, Rhodes was a part of a recent house show in Bologna, Italy as the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion as seen in a video posted by Shield of Wrestling on Instagram. Addressing the electrified audience after his match with Shinsuke Nakamura, Cody thanked them who erupted in huge cheers for them.
Witnessing the energy of the crowd, The American Nightmare suggested the idea of having a RAW or SmackDown in Bologna, Italy which they widely appreciated. After a comic run-in with Byron Saxton who was at ringside, Rhodes stated that he would call WWE CCO Triple H soon to discuss the same.
“You know we are sold out tonight, this is pretty good showing for Italy. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a RAW, to have a SmackDown?”
The last time a flagship WWE show was hosted in Italy was RAW in 2007 which saw the Milan Miracle when Santino Marella defeated Umaga in his debut to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. With a memorable history attached to Italy, we can expect a RAW or SmackDown to be hosted there should Rhodes take up the matter with Triple H.
