Excalibur has provided an update on the status of Bryan Danielson during the May 1 AEW Dynamite episode, revealing that the seasoned wrestler is currently sidelined from travel due to injuries sustained during his recent match at AEW Dynasty.
Following the incident, Tony Khan confirmed that Danielson isn’t cleared for travel, and as a result, his return to AEW television remains uncertain.
During his last appearance on AEW programming, Bryan Danielson found himself in a harrowing situation after a devastating move by Will Ospreay. The match concluded with Ospreay executing the Storm Diver 91, leaving Danielson attended to by officials. Despite Ospreay’s victory, the concern for Danielson’s well-being overshadowed the outcome.
In the aftermath, Danielson was escorted backstage for further assessment of his injuries, prompting Ospreay to express his intention to retire the maneuver responsible for the incident, acknowledging the severity of Danielson’s situation.
‘‘It seems that Bryan got hurt on the Storm Driver and I didn’t see the doctor call. So I want to apologize on that. Obviously, within the confines of wrestling, in the ring it’s your life and mine until you see the vice of what you did. “
“I feel awful about this, even though 90% of the time it’s been fine, seeing the damage it has done, I’m gonna retire using the Storm Driver 91, I don’t it’s right for me to continue using it after seeing what it did to Bryan, for someone I got huge respect for. So to see the outcome, although I’m happy everyone enjoyed the match, I’m disappointed in myself and I apologize to Bryan, AEW medics and Tony.”
