Scrypts made his way to NXT and introduced his character with a series of cryptic promos, but he didn’t necessarily make an impact and now it appears WWE will not be renewing his contract.
According to Fightful Select, Scrypts, previously known as Reggie, is set to leave WWE when his contract expires at the beginning of June. He has been informed that his deal will not be renewed, and he will become a free agent.
It was further noted that Scrypts, who may revert to using his real name Sidney Akeem, intends to continue his wrestling career even after his departure from WWE.
”Fightful Select has learned that Scrypts’, formerly known as Reggie, contract is set to expire at the start of June. He’s been informed that the deal will be expiring and he will be a free agent. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned that Scrypts, who will likely go by Sidney Akeem, plans to continue wrestling and expected his deal to not be renewed.”
Scrypts has been a member of OTM in NXT and previously worked under a mask on the brand. He initially signed with WWE in 2020 and quickly made his way to the main roster as Carmella’s valet under the name Reginald. During his tenure, he became part of the 24/7 title scene before transitioning to NXT, where he debuted as Scrypts on the November 22, 2022 episode.
Despite his expected departure, Scrypts has remained active, appearing in a recent Snickers commercial with OTM and the Street Profits. His move to free agency opens up new possibilities for his wrestling career, and he is expected to explore opportunities with other promotions following his time in WWE. As Scrypts transitions out of WWE, fans will be interested in seeing where his wrestling journey takes him next.
