Darby Allin’s plans to conquer Mount Everest hit a snag when he suffered a broken foot during his match against Jay White on the March 13 episode of AEW Dynamite. As he continues to recuperate from his injury, his mountain-climbing aspirations have been put on hold. Additionally, Darby recently endured another setback when he was struck by a bus, resulting in a broken nose.
During an appearance on The Daly Migs Show, Darby Allin addressed the possibility of making an appearance at the May 15 episode of AEW Dynamite in Everett, Washington, his hometown.
“Unfortunately, my foot won’t be healed until around June. So, if I do show up, it’ll be with a broken face and foot, waving to the crowd. Which might not be the worst thing. I’ll have to wait and see. Training in Everett, Washington, it would be a sort of ultimate homecoming. May 15, I’ll see… I think I might be able to make it. As long as there are no buses, I’m good,” Allin remarked.
Reflecting on his thwarted Everest expedition, Allin recounted wrestling for 13 minutes on his broken foot before undergoing surgery to insert three metal plates.
“I was pumped. Ready to conquer Everest. Then, two weeks before my departure, I broke my foot during the match. Wrestling with a broken foot for 13 minutes was tough. It was a painful experience. Now, I’m recovering from foot surgery with three metal plates,” Allin shared.
Darby’s last appearance on AEW Dynamite was on March 27, and there’s no confirmation regarding his return to AEW programming. Stay tuned to Ringside News for updates as they emerge.
