Change is the only constant in life and that is true for AEW’s schedule lately as well, as it appears this week’s episode of Collision will not be broadcast this week.
AEW Rampage will air outside of its usual time slot next week due to a scheduling conflict with the NHL playoffs. The change was announced as part of a three-hour double-header on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Canadian Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Following the live episode of AEW Dynamite on May 1, a special live episode of AEW Rampage will air on TBS at 10/9c.
The NHL playoffs will take place during the usual AEW Rampage time slot next Friday night, prompting the scheduling shift. Throughout April, AEW has adjusted its programming to accommodate the NBA and NHL playoffs, holding three-hour blocks of double-header shows on Saturday nights. For example, AEW Battle of the Belts X aired on April 13, 2024, while the last two weeks saw AEW Rampage air after AEW Collision.
Additionally, there will be a change in the AEW Collision schedule. The weekly two-hour prime time AEW program on TNT, which usually airs on Saturday nights, will not air next Saturday, May 4, 2024. The show is scheduled to return to its normal time slot on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 8/7c on TNT.
These changes reflect AEW’s flexibility in adapting to external factors like sports events while ensuring fans continue to receive live wrestling content. Despite the disruptions, AEW has been creative in adjusting its programming to maintain engagement and offer fans new experiences with its double-header events and special live episodes. Regardless, we’ll have to see how next week’s Collision turns out.
