One of the most questionable decisions for wrestling fans came in when Adam Copeland decided to move to AEW to pursue a full-time career when he wasn’t ready to do so during his time in WWE. Rather, that was one of the biggest reasons he was considering retirement from the ring.
However, with his run in AEW, Copeland has been involved in some of the most physical matches of his career with a lot of hard-hitting action being featured in every match of the promotion. With him nearing retirement, it is surprising to see the former champion agree to be a part of such action.
Addressing the action he has been a part of, Copeland, during a recent appearance on Swerve City, revealed that he was trying to test himself with a new move every match. This was a challenge for himself and that he was enjoying his run in AEW.
“What I’ve done with this AEW run, I told myself, ‘I’m going to try a move that I’ve never tried before. One move, every match. That I’ve never done before.’ [AEW Collision before AEW Dynasty], I did the Davey Boy powerslam. Never done one before. I’ve done the rotation powerslam, but never the Davey. Last week against Brody King, I’ve never done a blockbuster, ‘I’ll try a blockbuster.’ Just for myself, really. Just to have fun and the challenge of it. I get off on challenges. The challenges are very big for me in life. I work best when I have a challenge that I have to try and conquer.”
While Copeland might not have a problem with this action now, it won’t be a big surprise if he gets listed among numerous other AEW talents who have been out on the bench due to an injury. Ringside News will keep you updated with this story.
