Drew McIntyre has signed a new contract with WWE, as announced by none other than The Rock on Instagram. The Rock, true to his promise, presented McIntyre with a symbolic sword upon the renewal of his contract.
In his Instagram post, The Rock wrote, “Man of my word. As you’re a man of yours – Congratulations @dmcintyrewwe on signing your new @wwe deal.”
He further expressed his admiration for McIntyre’s Scottish heritage, stating, “I know this Scottish Claymore represents everything that you, your family and your country embody. Alba gu bràth.”
The Rock humorously mentioned his inability to personally deliver the gift to McIntyre due to prior engagements but extended his heartfelt congratulations nonetheless.
“As you know, I wanted to personally hand deliver this gift to you at your meeting with Nick Kahn, but I had warm cheat meals and chilled tequila waiting for me”
McIntyre’s recent contract extension comes on the heels of his WrestleMania 40 victory over Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. However, McIntyre’s reign was short-lived as Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to claim the championship.
With his contract initially set to expire in June, McIntyre’s decision to stay with WWE provides continuity and stability for both himself and the company.
Currently nursing an elbow injury, McIntyre remains a pivotal figure in WWE’s roster. Fans eagerly await his next move, especially with the upcoming WWE Raw draft looming.
