Cody Rhodes has unique talent for connecting with fans in WWE, which is why fans were concerned after his injury scare on SmackDown this week. In light of this, we now have an update on his health status.

On the opening night of the 2024 WWE Draft, SmackDown picked former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, who made a bold statement by challenging Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to a match.

Cody Rhodes accepted the challenge, leading to an intense main event. Despite a strong showing from Hayes, Rhodes emerged victorious, but Hayes certainly impressed many with his performance.

However, during one instance of the match, Cody Rhodes and Carmelo Hayes both went for springboard moves but the timing was clearly off, as both crashed and burned. Rhodes in particular landed awkwardly on his shoulder and fans feared the worst for him.

Fightful Select reported that after the recent main event, they contacted Cody Rhodes to check on his well-being, and his response was a very vague one.

”Speaking of the main event, we reached out to Cody Rhodes to ask if he was okay, and he said “always,” but that isn’t exactly a definitive update.”

Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles also had a tense contract signing segment on the show. Nevertheless, we certainly hope Cody Rhodes will be able to compete at Backlash without any issues.
