Earlier this month, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin lost the NXT Tag Team Championship to Nathan Frazer and Axiom, signaling a potential shift in their career paths. It had been reported that both Breakker and Corbin were expected to be called up to the WWE main roster, and while that has happened, there’s now news that Baron Corbin will undergo a significant makeover as part of his move to the main roster.
In this week’s WWE Draft, Bron Breakker was drafted to RAW, marking his move to the red brand. He made a quick impact by securing a win in just 16 seconds on the show, but the Draft also brought some disappointing news for him.
His tag team partner Baron Corbin was drafted to SmackDown, making it clear the tag team were broken up for good. According to a report by Fightful Select, the separation is because WWE views Bron Breakker as a potential major singles star. This strategic move allows each wrestler to pursue distinct storylines and character development within their respective brands.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan noted that Corbin’s shift to SmackDown may come with a renewed look, signaling a transformation in his character or presentation. This change follows Corbin’s lack of significant pushes on the main roster since 2022. The move to SmackDown provides him with a fresh start and opportunities to explore new feuds, storylines, and possibly a different style.
In addition to this, Brennan reported that Corbin was not at the WWE Performance Center, indicating that his character revamp might involve a broader scope of changes, possibly incorporating new elements into his persona.
”Baron Corbin was drafted, as Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported he would be last week. Both Sapp and Brennan heard that Corbin and Bron Breakker were drafted to separate brands because WWE sees a major singles star in Breakker. In addition, Sapp was told that Corbin is likely to get a renewed look on Smackdown after not being pushed on the main roster since 2022. Brennan reported that Corbin was not at the WWE PC.”
Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker have already reacted to them getting split up as well. Regardless, we will have to wait and see how WWE will develop Baron Corbin on the main roster this time around.
