This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite delivered a dramatic shocker as The Elite and Jack Perry teamed up to attack AEW CEO Tony Khan, creating a jaw-dropping moment that concluded the show. The fallout from this brutal ambush was visible as Khan appeared at the 2024 NFL Draft wearing a neck brace, showing the aftermath of the in-ring violence. Pat McAfee also didn’t miss the opportunity to comment on the incident.
Khan found himself in a precarious situation following a surprising ambush led by Jack Perry. Khan was in the midst of what appeared to be a reconciliation attempt with Perry when the latter unexpectedly attacked him, striking him in the gut. This initial assault quickly escalated as The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada joined Perry, resulting in Khan being left incapacitated in the ring.
It was then reported that Tony Khan went above and beyond to sell the effects of the heinous assault. Therefore, it came as no surprise Khan sported a neck brace during his appearance at the 2024 NFL Draft.
On The Pat McAfee Show, host Pat McAfee and co-host Mel Kiper discussed the recent AEW storyline where AEW CEO Tony Khan appeared with a neck brace at the 2024 NFL Draft following a storyline attack on AEW Dynamite. Pat McAfee commented on Khan’s appearance, noting what happened to Khan on Dynamite.
“Wednesday night, he took a Meltzer Driver, I do believe.
“Guy’s got a broken neck and he’s battling through.”
Mel Kiper, in response, provided his own observation and advice to Khan. He pointed out that if someone is wearing a neck brace, they should avoid moving around as if everything is normal, suggesting it might affect the continuity of the storyline.
“I understand keeping up with the gimmick. Someone should tell Tony Khan that if you have a neck brace on, don’t f**king move around like nothing’s wrong. Stick with the gimmick and look straight ahead like your neck’s broken. What are we doing here?”
We will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to book The Elite’s storyline with Tony Khan, as it is likely Khan might become a regular on-screen character on AEW television going forward.
