This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite delivered a night of surprises, culminating in a shocking turn of events, but the ratings didn’t quite reflect that and now AEW’s internal reaction to the viewership drop has been revealed.

As reported earlier, the April 24th edition of AEW Dynamite drew 683,000 viewers and achieved a rating of 0.23 in the coveted 18-49 demographic. This was a decrease from last week’s show, which got 762,000 viewers and a demo rating of 0.26 as well.

This drop is being attributed to the show airing live coast-to-coast on TBS, with no delay for the west coast feed as is usually the case. PWInsider reports that AEW officials internally anticipated this decline due to the change in broadcast timing.

”Internally, AEW expected this week’s Dynamite audience to drop since they were not on at 8 PM Pacific, but at 5 PM.”
