After an absence since December 2023 due to diverticulitis, Kenny Omega’s return to AEW Dynamite has been confirmed, sparking anticipation among fans.

During his hiatus, Omega lost his spot in The Elite, with Kazuchika Okada stepping into his place. Additionally, the recently returned Jack Perry has aligned himself with the new iteration of The Elite, culminating in an attack on AEW owner Tony Khan during the April 24 episode of Dynamite.

As AEW Dynamite heads to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on May 1, Omega’s presence in his hometown has been confirmed. While his exact role on the upcoming Dynamite remains uncertain, Omega broke his silence on the appearance with a tweet stating, “It’s been a long time.”

Omega’s last AEW appearance occurred on the December 9 episode of Collision, where he emerged victorious against Ethan Page. Prior to that, he teamed up with Chris Jericho as one half of The Golden Jets, securing a triumph over The Young Bucks at AEW Full Gear in a Title Shot vs. Disbandment match.
