Last week, WWE garnered attention with a wave of wrestler releases, and one of the more recent departures is Von Wagner. His exit from WWE brings an end to his five-year tenure with the company, marking a notable shift in his wrestling career. Wagner’s departure adds to the ongoing reshaping of WWE’s talent roster and the reason for his departure has been revealed.
Last week delivered disappointment to numerous WWE fans, with the company opting to release several stars in its latest round of cuts. Among those affected are Xyon Quinn, Jinder Mahal, among many others. Von Wagner was the latest to be released and this somewhat puzzled fans as well.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Von Wagner and Xyon Quinn’s shocking departures from the company. Meltzer noted that Wagner and Quinn were considered main roster talent but as they were not on the main roster, the decision was made to release them.
It was further noted that both did only a couple of matches on the main roster. Ultimately, they were rarely used on the main roster and this another reason for their release.
“They were considered main roster talents but because they were not on the main roster, the decision was made to dump them.”
Von Wagner’s release also exposed the creative disarray in WWE. Nevertheless, only time will tell what will become of Von Wagner and the rest of the released talent, as things seem uncertain for them.
