On Monday Night RAW last week, Sheamus returned to the ring after a hiatus following his match against former WWE Superstar Edge on SmackDown last summer. During this week’s RAW, a controversial line was used, raising questions about whether Sheamus had approved it beforehand. It’s been confirmed that Sheamus did give permission for the line in question.
As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre engaged in a war of words regarding their recent struggles. The segment started with Drew McIntyre entering the ring, adopting CM Punk’s signature pose by sitting cross-legged in the center, to address his recent setbacks. McIntyre announced his participation in the upcoming King of the Ring tournament while discussing his downfall, brought on by his heated rivalry with CM Punk.
As McIntyre continued to dwell on his troubles, Sheamus interrupted, looking to offer advice as a long-time friend. The Celtic Warrior reminded McIntyre that his obsession with CM Punk cost him the World Heavyweight title in just five minutes at WrestleMania 40. Sheamus urged McIntyre to let go of his bitterness and focus on rebuilding his career.
Instead of heeding the advice, McIntyre responded with his usual social media antics. He threw verbal jabs at Sheamus, referencing the online fat-shaming and weight-gain criticism that Sheamus faced from certain fans after returning to RAW following an eight-month hiatus.
According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightfuls paywall, it was reported that Sheamus was fine with the ‘burgers after burgers’ line uttered by Drew McIntyre on Monday Night RAW.
”For those asking, Sheamus was said to be okay with the “burgers after burgers” line.”
We will have to wait and see whether The Celtic Warrior will be able to become the new Intercontinental Champion one day, as fans simply want him to have a good run and fulfil his goal. After all, that’s his main goal at the moment.
