The long-standing feud between Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland reached its climax at AEW Dynasty with Strickland realizing his dream and putting down the Samoan Machine to win the AEW World Championship.

Despite enduring a relentless onslaught from Joe, Swerve demonstrated resilience and unwavering resolve. In a breathtaking moment of sheer athleticism and precision, Swerve ascended to the pinnacle of the turnbuckle and delivered a decisive stomp, driving it straight into Joe’s heart.

The arena erupted in a deafening roar as the referee’s hand slapped the canvas for the final count, declaring Swerve Strickland the victor and the new AEW World Champion making it officially Swerve’s house.

In a video posted on social media, Swerve was a part of a dinner party with his friends from the locker room. Among them, former AEW Champion himself Chris Jericho decided to give a heartfelt speech for the new champion’s monumental victory.

The Lionheart credited Swerve Strickland’s ability as an in-ring performer, having grit and perseverance from the start. Moreover, Jericho revealed that he envisioned Swerve as AEW’s ‘next guy’ about six months prior and was confident in his ability to lead the charge of the company while providing everything in his willpower to make sure Swerve succeeds moving forward.

“I knew about six months ago that this is our guy, this is the next guy. I would have done it two months earlier, I don’t share booking, but it would have been great. There has only been eight champions in AEW, eight different guys … he’s No. 8 in 5 years, that’s a long time. We don’t change titles, world titles very often until it’s the absolute right guy. He is the right guy for the job, he’s got the X factor. If I was the big weight in AEW, maybe I am, I would put you on every f**king talk show, I would promote you every single way because you have what we need, the ability to crossover into mainstream and I am super proud of you man, and you had it since day one, but a lot of guys have it but are not able to make it happen, but you did and now it’s your time and I will push you to the f**king limit till the house comes on and do my best to make sure that happens.”

With Swerve Strickland as the new World Champion of the AEW landscape, we will have to wait and see who will be the first one to step up and challenge the era of Swerve’s House.
