In the ever-intense rivalry between wrestling juggernauts WWE and AEW, Brian Cage got attention after potentially firing shots against WWE’s cornerstone, Cody Rhodes, but now has denied the claims.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes achieved a remarkable feat by toppling The Head of the Table Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship in one of the most memorable moments in the history of WWE.
In a development that has captivated the wrestling world, AEW stalwart Brian Cage made his stance known, possibly asserting that Rhodes finishing his story was not above the true standout match of the year i.e the electrifying encounter between Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty.
“I don’t care what story you finish. That was the match of the year. @WillOspreay vs @bryandanielson#OspreyVsDanielson#AEW#AEWDynasty.”
Brian Cage took to his X once again to make some clarification regarding his statement. Brian Cage stated that he only enjoyed the Danielson and Ospreay bout more than anything and did not mean to insult Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, or the WWE.
“1st of all, My “bother with this app” tweet had nothing to do with the best match tweet. 2ndly, yes, I enjoyed ospreay and Danielson more than anything else this year, and “the story” is obviously incredibly relevant, but I did not take a shot at cody, roman, wwe or anything or.”
As Cody Rhodes gears up to defend his coveted Undisputed WWE Title against AJ Styles at the forthcoming WWE Backlash France event, speculation looms over whether The Prodigal Son will choose to address the pointed remarks from talents like Brian Cage of the company he played a pivotal role in establishing back in 2019.
