Drew McIntyre became a major star in recent months thanks to his incredible social media game, where he would roast the likes of CM Punk, Seth Rollins and more. Even after his WrestleMania 40 World Title loss, McIntyre has upped his troll game by denying Belfast fans a WrestleMania due to CM Punk chants.
The feud between McIntyre and Punk reached a new level at WrestleMania 40 when CM Punk attacked McIntyre after his match with Seth Rollins, creating an opening for Money in the Bank winner Damian Priest to cash in his briefcase and claim the title. This betrayal not only cost McIntyre the championship, but it also fueled his determination to seek retribution against Punk.
While speaking during a recent WWE live event in Belfast, Ireland, Drew McIntyre noted that he had the power to ensure WrestleMania takes place in Belfast but because of the fans chanting CM Punk all night, he will ensure WrestleMania never happens in Belfast.
”All of our big PLEs are traveling the world constantly. All of the world assumes London but imagine if it was somewhere like Belfast. Would you like that? Imagine in it, 10s and thousands of Irish and the most mental people come together for WrestleMania. It just so happens I helped Clash at The Castle happen and I’ve got the right people’s ears, but because of ya’ll tonight it’s never gonna happen and I’ll make sure it doesn’t, screw ya’ll.”
Drew McIntyre also didn’t fail to take yet another shot at CM Punk during the same live event in Belfast. We had already reported that Drew McIntyre was working injured during WWE’s latest UK tour, so we’ll have to see how McIntyre will continue to be booked in the coming weeks.
