Linda McMahon, now 75 years old, co-founded Titan Sports alongside her husband, Vince McMahon, 44 years ago. She held significant positions in WWE as President and CEO before departing in 2009 to run for the United States Senate. In fact, she threatened to fine WWE employees over a minor mistake.
Vince McMahon’s wife Linda McMahon made her WWE television debut in 1999. The 75-year-old was featured extensively on WWE television during the Attitude Era, especially during Shane McMahon’s feud with Vince McMahon.
In 2002, WWE changed its name from World Wrestling Federation to World Wrestling Entertainment due to a legal battle with the World Wildlife Fund over the use of the “WWF” acronym. The dispute centered around trademark infringement, leading to a court ruling that required the wrestling organization to stop using the “WWF” initials.
On the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast, Jaswaye discussed the strict measures that were implemented following WWE’s name change from World Wrestling Federation to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002. Due to the legal battle with the World Wildlife Fund over the “WWF” initials, Vince McMahon’s wife, Linda McMahon, issued a directive to ensure compliance with the name change.
“One thing that was huge is, because of the legal ramifications, we could not use WWF anywhere, so we had to literally take that off of everything. All of our old videos. And I remember it was an edict from Linda McMahon that if we used it, we were fined and we were in a lot of trouble.”
Linda McMahon also returned at the Hall of Fame ceremony and was backstage at WrestleMania 40. Regardless, we will have to wait and see if she will return to WWE for good.
